About Stacy Hughes, MSN, FNP-C

Stacy Hughes, MSN, FNP-C, is a board-certified nurse practitioner with a passion for working with children. Prior to becoming a nurse and joining The Pediatric Center of Stone Mountain in Stone Mountain, Georgia, Stacy earned her bachelor’s degree in American Civilization from Brown University in Providence, Rhode Island, and a Master of Arts in Teaching from the University of Rhode Island in South Kingstown before teaching social studies for three years.

Stacy originally obtained a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from the University of New Mexico in Albuquerque in 1998, so when it came time for a career change, she knew pediatric nursing would be the right fit. In 2016, Stacy took her education a step further and earned her Master in Nursing from Mercer University in Macon, Georgia.

As a nurse and former educator, Stacy has spent her entire adult life working with young children, adolescents, and teenagers. She served as a school nurse, a public health nurse, a pediatric triage nurse, and now treats the community of Stone Mountain as an experienced nurse practitioner specializing in pediatrics.

After living in cities throughout the United States, including Denver, Colorado, Albuquerque, and more, Stacy settled down in the Decatur area of Georgia in 2007. She is proud to be part of an experienced, well-educated, and compassionate team of medical professionals at The Pediatric Center of Stone Mountain. When she is not in the office, Stacy loves spending time with her two daughters, working in her garden, and reading in her backyard hammock.
